There is something for the whole family to enjoy at Friends Landing. Wake up early to enjoy fishing on Lake Quigg or the Chehalis River. Enjoy beautiful sunsets from your vantage point in the beautiful Chehalis River Valley. Pack your walking shoes to enjoy the 1.7 mile scenic walk around Lake Quigg. Or, plan your next family gathering at one of our day-use picnic shelters.

Fishing

Friends Landing has excellent fishing access with two fishing shacks along the river and piers and trail access on the lake. Salmon and sturgeon are the major catches.

In the river, there is sturgeon fishing year round. When salmon are running there is great fishing from the pier or in your boat. There is seasonal fishing in the lake.

Lake Quigg has several piers and floating docks which allow for easy access to fishing or just nature watching.

Bordering the river are two covered fish shacks and a concrete floating pier.

Boating

There are two boat launches providing access to the Chehalis River and Lake Quigg.

Only non-motorized boats are allowed on Lake Quigg. Parking for boat trailers is available between the boat launches.

Boat Launch Fees and Parking

$5 daily fee or $50 for a calendar year pass.

Picnicking

Picnic Shelters

Picnic shelters can be reserved. There is no fee for their use.
Shelters are on a first come - first served basis on days when there is no reservation.

Reservations may be made by calling (360) 861-8864 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Hiking & Biking

Lake Trail

Friends Landing has a 1.7 mile hiking trail around Lake Quigg. It is a paved and bridged trail that takes you through wetland marsh, woods, meadow and more.

There are several interpretive signs and viewing docks to guide your trip.

Birdwatchers may see Bald Eagles, Osprey, Canada Goose, Kingfisher, Cormorant, Steller's Jay and many kinds of Duck, Woodpeckers, Hawks and songbirds. Binoculars and telephoto lenses are best for viewing.

Hikers should be aware that high tides in Grays Harbor can occasionally put sections of the trail under water.
